Hellenic Parliament represented at anti-occupation event of Municipality of Morphou

The anti-occupation event Days of Remembrance of Morphou, organised by the occupied Municipality of Morphou, Cyprus, was attended by the Second Vice President of the Hellenic Parliament Mr Georgios Georgantas, representing the President of the Hellenic Parliament, from 11-14 October 2024.
In the framework of the events, Mr Georgantas met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus Mrs Annita Demetriou, who expressed her sincere appreciation to Greece for its expressed solidarity and continuous support to the efforts to resolve the Cyprus issue. During his remarks, the Second Vice-President stressed the harmonious cooperation between Cyprus and Greece, noting that the Hellenic Parliament is always present through its representatives at the events condemning the Turkish invasion. He also reiterated the unwavering support of both the Greek government and the Hellenic Parliament in the just struggle of the Cypriot people for reunification. Mr Georgantas concluded by expressing his hope for a substantial resumption of negotiations and a viable solution to the Cyprus issue.
