Extraordinary meeting of the Standing Committee of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly

In Istanbul took place today the Extraordinary Session of the Standing Committee of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly. The Hellenic Parliament represented the head of the Greek delegation MP Konstantinos Vlasis.

The upcoming anniversary events, in view of the 30th anniversary of the Assembly, as well as the amendment of the Assembly's Rules of Procedure were the main topics of discussion.

Mr Vlasis, in his intervention, underlined the contribution of the Hellenic Parliament to the long history of the Assembly, emphasising the need to continuously strengthen the Black Sea Economic Cooperation and further promote regional cooperation.

He also stressed that Greece has always been and will remain a pillar of peace, security and stability in the region and called on the participants to work together in this direction, their ultimate goal being the prosperity of the peoples of the Black Sea region.

Finally, the head of the Greek delegation took a position on all the amendments and contributed significantly to the discussion and the formulation of the final adjustments.
