Meeting of President of Parliament with Secretary General of Parliamentary Assembly of Black Sea Economic Cooperation

The President of the Hellenic Parliament Constantine Tassoulas had a private meeting with the Secretary General of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (PABSEC) Asaf Hajiyev.

Welcoming Mr Hajiyev, Mr Tassoulas referred to the importance of the Organisation, noting that it is a fruitful initiative, in which the participating countries “cooperate on the basis of improving economic, cultural, trade and political relations”.

The President of the Parliament stressed that “Greece participates with optimism and self-confidence in this format”, with the primary goal of fulfilling the need for “common actions to protect the environment”, as it affects “our very lives and future”.

For his part, the Secretary General of the PABSEC Asaf Hajiyev, after thanking Mr Tassoulas for the invitation, referred in turn to the very important role the PABSEC is playing, noting that “the Black Sea is a very important part of the world”.

Afterwards, Mr Hajiyev praised the presence of the Greek Delegation in the PABSEC, since, as he underlined, “it has always played a very active role, both in the region and the Organisation”, adding that the Greek Delegation “has added a higher degree of efficiency, raising the level of work”.

After the statements were made, Mr Hajiyev presented the President of the Parliament with an honorary rare medal bearing the colours of the Black Sea, while Mr Tassoulas offered the PABSEC Secretary General the foreign language edition of the catalogue of the exhibition “Beholding Liberty! At the Hellenic Parliament, two centuries later”
