Exhibitions
As of 1994 the Parliament has been making a systematic effort to come closer to the citizens and mostly the youth by organizing exhibitions on the occasion of important historical events or to pay tribute to distinguished personalities of Hellenism. By means of such events, the Parliament actually contributes to helping citizens get a more profound knowledge of history and adopt a more critical stance towards the past and the present.
Moreover, groups of visitors, such as members of associations, senior citizen clubs etc. may schedule a visit by calling the Parliament (210 3692429 and 210 3692106).

“I painted my Future: works of art from the State Scholarships Foundation collection”
The Hellenic Parliament Foundation for Parliamentarism and Democracy and the State Scholarships Foundation, IKY, present the exhibition “I painted my Future: works of art from the State Scholarships Foundation collection”.
The exhibition features a selection of works of art produced in the context of the IKY scholarship awarding examinations or offered to IKY by scholars after the completion of their studies. The IKY examinations in the field of the arts lasted from the very founding of the Foundation, in 1951, until 2010. They included color studies, or, alternatively, three-dimensional works created in 5 four-hour long sessions, through which candidates were expected to prove their drawing skills, speed in execution and imagination.
The selected 40 exhibits -portraits, model studies, abstract compositions, still life, studies for theater costumes, sculptures and engravings- on view are a small part of the Foundation’s collection which counts approximately 600 works of art. This first exhibition aims to render the public aware of the scholars’ work as well as the Foundation’s and the State’s efforts to promote the arts along the institution of scholarship giving.
The opening of the exhibition took place on Tuesday, May 6th, 2014 at the Hellenic Parliament Foundation exhibition hall (14, Amalias av.).
The exhibition will remain on view until July, 20th, 2014.
