Hellenic Parliament commemorates Day of Remembrance of Genocide of Greeks of Pontus
The Hellenic Parliament commemorates the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide of Greeks of Pontus, the 19th of May, by illuminating the facade of the building with a symbolic logo-message.
Through this act the Hellenic Parliament declares the undimmed historical memory and the perennial demand for the restoration of history regarding the extermination of the Greeks of the Asia Minor Pontus.
Also, on Wednesday 19 May 2021, at 09:30, a Special Session of the Plenary will be dedicated to the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide of Greeks of Pontus.
The Hellenic Parliament on 24 February 1994 recognised officially the genocide of the Pontic Greeks by the Turkish state and unanimously voted to declare the 19th of May the Day of Remembrance of the Genocide of Greeks of Pontus by law 2193/1994.
