Hellenic Parliament delegation attends invasion remembrance events in Cyprus
A Hellenic Parliament delegation consisting of Mr Dionysios Stamenitis (New Democracy) and Mrs Irini (Nina) Kasimati (SYRIZA) is visiting Cyprus from Monday, July 18, to Thursday, July 21, to attend remembrance events to commemorate the 48th anniversary of the Turkish invasion.
During their stay they will attend:
- a memorial service at the " Major Sotirios Staurianakos" Headquarters Camp of the Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYK), where Mr Stamenitis will lay a wreath on behalf of the Hellenic Parliament,
- a prayer for finding Missing Persons and Memorial Service for the victims of the invasion at the Memorial area “Panorama of Greek Cypriot missing” at Pyrga, Larnaca,
- a memorial service at the Tomb of Makedonitissa,
- a memorial service in honour of the fallen heroes, officers and soldiers and
- a plea for the liberation of Cyprus, the return of refugees and the finding of missing persons at the Apostles’ Cathedral.
