N. Kaklamanis to Speaker of House of Representatives of Libya: "The 2019 Turkey-Libya memorandum must not be ratified by the Parliament of Libya"

The President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis, met today with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Libya, Mr Aguila Saleh Issa.

“Your Excellency, Mr Speaker, I welcome you to the Hellenic Parliament at a time of change and significant social developments,” said the President of the Parliament, Mr N. Kaklamanis, stressing: “In you, Greece sees a long-standing friend and an important regional partner with whom we wish to build an even closer cooperation.”

The Libyan delegation consisted of Members of Parliament Mr Saeid Emgheib, Mr Ezzeldin Bourawi and Mr Muntasir Elhassi; the Speaker's Advisers, Mr Khaled Omar Altaieb and Mr Abdulhameed Alsafi; and the Director of Public Relations of the Office of the Speaker, Mr Idrees Imhemid Alfirjani.

Also present at the meeting were the Second Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Georgios Georgantas; the Fourth Deputy Speaker, Ms Olga Gerovasili; the Secretary General of the Parliament, Mr Vasileios Bagiokos; and the President’s Diplomatic Adviser, Ambassador Constantine Economides.
