Development of economic cooperation between Greece and Algeria focus of meeting of Greece-Algeria Friendship Group with Ambassador of Algeria

The prospects for the development of economic cooperation between Greece and Algeria in the fields of primary production, construction and infrastructure projects and tourism were discussed by the members of the Greece-Algeria Friendship Group Mr Ioannis Giorgos (Chair), Mr Papas Theophanis (Deputy Chair), Mr Papanastasis Nikolaos (Secretary) and Mrs Fotiou Theano (Member), with the Ambassador of Algeria to our country Mrs Zaina Benhabouche, during their formal meeting at the Hellenic Parliament today.
The Chair of the Friendship Group Mr Ioannis Giorgos made particular reference to the last visit of Mr Nikos Dendias, in his capacity as then Foreign Minister, to Algiers in February 2020, noting that the beginning of the resumption of contacts and the subsequent intention to cooperate in the energy sector are already reflected in the increased supply of liquefied natural gas and petroleum products from Algeria, which is the second largest supplier after the United States.
