Meeting of 1st Vice-President of Hellenic Parliament with China Economic and Social Council delegation

 

The 1st Vice-President of the Hellenic Parliament Ioannis Plakiotakis held today a meeting at the Parliament with a 9-member delegation of the China Economic and Social Council headed by Mr Zhang Qingli. In the meeting participated the Ambassador of China to Greece Xiao Junzheng, the President of the Greek Economic and Social Committee (ESC) Ioannis Paidas, the Secretary General of the Greek ESC Apostolos Xyrafis and the Director of the Greek ESC's International Department Martha Theodorou. 

At the meeting, which was held in a particularly positive atmosphere, both Mr Plakiotakis and Mr Zhang stressed the close relations that have always linked the two countries and presented current issues of bilateral and international interest, emphasising the fields of the economy, maritime affairs, tourism and culture. 

Both sides expressed the will to deepen cooperation, with a view to implementing the mutually beneficial strategic goals for Greece and China. The Parliament's Vice-President assured the Chinese delegation that the Hellenic Parliament will continue to support parliamentary cooperation between Greece and China and the deepening of bilateral relations at all levels, to the benefit of the two peoples.
