‘No’ to cuts for farmers – ‘No’ to a divided Cyprus: The messages of N. Kaklamanis and R. Metsola

The European Union’s stance on the Cyprus issue and the need for careful management of EU defence funds were highlighted during today’s meeting between the President of the Hellenic Parliament, Mr Nikitas Kaklamanis, and the President of the European Parliament, Ms Roberta Metsola, at the Parliament. As Mr Kaklamanis stressed, “the funds Europe will spend on common defence, as well as on the war in Ukraine, must not be taken from the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy,” while Ms Metsola underlined that “as long as Cyprus remains divided, Europe is not complete.”
