Meeting of Greece-China Friendship Group with delegation from China Soong Ching Ling Foundation

The extensive bilateral relations in the fields of culture, art and education were the focus of today's meeting of the Bureau of the Greece-China Friendship Group with a six-member Chinese delegation from the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, headed by the Chairperson of the Foundation and former Vice-Chairperson of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Mrs Li Bin, who gathered the most positive comments for the Foundation she represents and the important personality who pioneered its establishment with the values of culture, humanitarianism and the protection of children and women as its main pillars.     

During the discussion, the Chair of the Friendship Group Ioannis Tragakis, praised the contribution of Ambassador Xiao Juncheng - who accompanied the Chinese delegation - in the area of developing bilateral relations through a multi-level cooperation noting that the Greek appreciation for him was also recently expressed, following his proposal, through the honorary distinction he received during the celebrations and the re-enactment of the Battle of Salamis in this year's "Salaminia". At the same time, Mr Tragakis made reference to the signing of fourteen (14) bilateral agreements on economic, trade, education, culture and youth issues since 2019, which he had the honour to attend during the official visit of President Xi Jinping to Greece.
