Meeting of 1st Vice-President of Parliament with Ambassador of Singapore

The 1st Vice-President of  the Parliament Ioannis Plakiotakis met today with the Ambassador of Singapore to Greece Simon Tay. 

The meeting was conducted in a very positive atmosphere, while both Mr Plakiotakis and Mr Tay made reference to the friendly relations linking the two countries, focusing on issues of bilateral interest, mainly maritime affairs, commerce, investments and culture.

At the same time, they exchanged views on issues of international interest such as the climate crisis, the implementation of the UN Convention on Law of the Sea, the green economy, the digital transition and fighting against illegal networks of migrant trafficking.

Both sides expressed the will to deepen cooperation, in the direction of carrying out mutually beneficial strategic goals for Greece and Singapore. 

The Vice-President of the Parliament assured the Ambassador of Singapore that the Hellenic Parliament looks forward to developing its parliamentary cooperation with Singapore, as well as to deepening and encouraging bilateral relations at all levels to the benefit of both peoples.
