Greece-Lebanon Parliamentary Friendship Group meets with Forein Minister of Lebanon: "Our countries are inextricably linked with historical links of friendship"

“Greece and Lebanon are inextricably linked with historically friendly ties and we look forward to their continuation, as it is evident from the cross-party parliamentary representation,” said the Chair of the Greece-Lebanon Friendship Group Mr Vassilis Oikonomou during the meeting of the members of the group with the Foreign Minister of Lebanon, Mr Abdallah Bou Habib, who was in Athens in the framework of high-level contacts.

During the meeting, the Greek delegation, with the participation of MPs Georgios Rountas (Secretary Friendship Group) and (members) Marilena Soukouli and Maria Komninaka, referred to the following:

- The urgent need to de-escalate the crisis that is destabilising the wider Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean region, since the risk of its spread is imminent.

- The consistent condemnation of any planning of border violation from whichever side it may come.

- In the vital creative space of pro-investment policy, which has been developing in Greece for five years and is being exploited by the Lebanese community in Greece.
