The potential for further developing Greece-China relations discussed at length at meeting of 1st Vice-President of Parliament with six-member delegation from Communist Party of China

A meeting was held today between the First Vice-President of the Parliament Mr Ioannis Plakiotakis and a six-member delegation of the Communist Party of China, headed by the Chairperson of the State Committee for Public Sector Reforms Mrs Xiaoxin LI, in the presence of the outgoing Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Athens Mr Junzheng XIAO.
Mr Plakiotakis welcomed the guests and highlighted the wide range of the already excellent political, economic, maritime, energy and cultural relations between Greece and China. On the international front, the First Vice President didn't fail to praise China's stance in support of Greece's long-standing and just claim for the reunification of the Parthenon Sculptures, and to thank China for its support of Greece's candidacy for the United Nations Security Council as a non-permanent member for the period of 2025-2026, the mutual support in the election of the members of the Council of the International Maritime Organisation, as well as for its commitment to support the Greek candidacy for the Human Rights Council for the period of 2028-2030 in the forthcoming elections in 2027.
