Strategic cooperation between Greece and Japan of fundamental importance

The emergence of Greece as a trans-regional power in the Mediterranean with a special geopolitical importance, was underlined during today's customary meeting between the Chair of the Greece-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group Mr Giorgos Stylios and the new Ambassador of Japan to Athens Mr Koichi Ito. During the discussion was highlighted the fundamental importance of the strategic cooperation between the two countries, which is also reflected in the signing, by the two Prime Ministers, of a Joint Declaration on a wide range of areas in the political, economic and investment fields.

The Chair of the Friendship Group Mr Stylios referred, among other things, to the interest actively shown by the Greek state to attract investments, noting that the new Development Law renders Greece a linking country in the Eastern Mediterranean for transit trade and ideal for hosting notable business groups from abroad.
