Meeting of Greece-Italy Parliamentary Friendship Group with Ambassador of Italy to Athens

The common stance of Greece and Italy in addressing issues of concern for the international community such as migration, the structure of global security, the war in Ukraine and the challenges in the Southeastern Mediterranean region was confirmed by the members of the Greece-Italy Parliamentary Friendship Group in their meeting with the new Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Greece Paolo Cuculi.

During the exchange of views, the intention for closer cooperation at the parliamentary level was evident from both sides. In the light of the multi-level expansion of contacts, the Italian Ambassador expressed his interest in taking the necessary steps for the expansion of the Italian consular network in Greece.

Also noted was the intention to engage further in synergy in order to achieve the strongest possible cooperation within the framework of international and other European organisations such as NATO, the United Nations and the European Union.

The meeting was attended by MPs Vasileios Nikolaos Ypsilantis (Chair of the Parliamentary Friendship Group), Dimitrios Biagis (Deputy Chair) and members Neoklis Kritikos and Maria Athanasiou.
