She has been elected MP in Attica with PASOK in the National Elections of 2004, 2007 and 2009. She
participates in the Standing Committee on Social Affairs and the Committee for Research and Technology.
From 1986 until 1991 she was manager of the Human Resources Development on a Local Authotities’
Consultancy Firm From 1992 to 1997 she collaborated with the National Bank of Greece and with private
sector organizations on human resources issues. During the same period (1992-1997) she lectured as an
Assistant Professor of Public Administration, in the Faculty of Regional Development and Urban Planning,
at the University of Thessaly. She was Special Advisor to the former Minister of Economy, Giorgos
Gennimatas on European Affairs issues (1993-1994). From 1986 until 1997 she participated in many
interministerial committees as an E.U. Expert on administrative reform. She was Secretary General for the
management of community funds and other funds at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection (1997-
2002). She represented PASOK in the Initiative of Social Europe, of the European Socialist Party (PES). She
haw been and still is a member of PASOK’s Central Committee and National Council since 1999. From
2004 to December 2006, she was coordinator of the Sector of Social Affairs in PASOK Parliamentary Group.
In October of 2007 she was elected as spokesperson for employment and social security in PASOK
Parliamentary Group. She has published scientific research papers, books, and articles on public
administration, decentralization and human resources.
